Anniversary in Lisbon, Portugal

My husband Adolphus and I celebrated 19 years of marriage in December. He "surprised" me with a trip to Lisbon. It was not really a surprise, because he forgot and left his email open while we were both looking at his iPad, I pretended I did not see anything. The hotel reservation was there for me to read, could not look away. Anyway this is a photo of us at the Castle St. George high above the city. It was a fun trip with lots of good food, rest and relaxation.

A New Year

Once again the New Year has arrived and all the resolutions have come and gone along with all the celebrations, visits from family and time off from work. Life has been busy with work and family with little time for stamping and scrapbooking. Somehow I did find time to make a project today that was initially created by Keisha Campbell. Her blog is called A Bit East. She is an awesome cardmaker, scrapbooker, home decorator, and photographer. I love her style and I borrowed a little(really a lot) when I created my version. I have a cousin, who is fighting breast cancer, so far she is winning her battle. She has shown incredible courage and grace throughout her illness. I decided to make this project for her to let her know I am thinking of her and wishing her continued strength on her journey to defeat cancer.

I have been bitten by the COUPON CRAZE!!

I have been wanting to take a coupon class offered by Southern Savers for awhile and I am finally registered to go next week. I am too excited about learning how to save money on groceries. Clipped coupons last night, I saved the Sunday papers from the last 2 weeks and coupons in hand I went to Publix to buy what I had coupons for, just a few things, not a large order at all, My total before buy one get one and coupons was 20.34 and I paid 5.19. It was an awesome feeling. I am not trying to get a thousand dollars worth of stuff for $8, like the women on the shows, I just want to save 10 to 20 a week and it looks like I can be well on the way.

I know I will learn more tips and tricks next week but wanted to give it a try. I also went to CVS this morning, used coupons and got extracare bucks, more awesomeness. I bought Colgate toothpaste which was on sale for 2.79, bought 2 tubes, had a dollar off coupon for each one, then got 4.00 dollars in extra bucks, then another for 5 off 10, and yet another for 3 off 15. I also purchased Bliss chocolates for 5.99 and got extrabucks for 5.99. So for the 9.78 I spent I received 18.00 in extrabucks. Excited.

Black, Cream and Kraft with a touch of Red

I made some cards with my current favorite color combination. These are some simple, easy cards I made. I had so much fun making them, weird I know but it was just so nice to sit and play on a day off from work.

Scrapbook page

Worked on a scrapbook page today, not sure if I like it. I am stuck on tags.

Michael's visit.

Today I went to Michael's with the intention of buying the new stamps by Tim Holtz, they were 25% off and then another 25% off your purchase, including items already on sale. Of course the set that I wanted was gone and therefore my attitude was a little defeated. However they did have the Marth Stewart Hydrangea punch I wanted. I saw it used in Keisha Campbell's AWESOME blog, a bit east-coast. She is so talented. Love her stuff. Anyway decided to go home without any Tim Holtz stuff, on the way to pay for my punch I found the dollar bin. Low and behold Studio G had some new stamps. I ws so excited, the verses really put me in the mind of Ali Edwards so digging through I found many new stamps I had to have..can you say I need help...so needless to say this is what I left with and the best part of all they were 49 cents each. So happy........
